As the youngest “guru” included in the guide to the greatest management thinkers of all time, as published by The Economist in 2008, the Distinguished Leadership and Innovation Conference (DLIC 2017) welcomes leading economist and global strategist, Professor Pankaj Ghemawat.
Professor Ghemawat is currently the Global Professor of Management and Strategy & Director for the Centre for the Globalisation of Education and Management at Stern School of Business at New York University and the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy at IESE Business School.
With over thirty years’ experience, Prof. Ghemawat has written more than 100 research articles and case studies and is one of the world’s best-selling authors of teaching cases. He is also a fellow of the Academy of International Business and the Strategic Management Society.
Professor Ghemawat’s passion and determination for the globalisation of education has impelled him to assist companies and business schools better comprehend and address international opportunities and challenges as they arise. As part of a taskforce dedicated to highlighting the pertinence of the globalisation of management, appointed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - one of UK’s leading accreditation body for Business Schools-he helped write the report’s recommendations about what to teach about globalisation to students. Additionally, he established the DHL Global Connectedness Index which gives a comprehensive examination of globalisation and the rise of emerging markets..
